Mother Nature is a force not to be reckoned! No matter how much preparation goes into our efforts to defend our homes, sometimes it’s just not enough. On the 8th of November 2013 the Philippines were hit by typhoon Haiyan, which caused catastrophic damage. It was the strongest storm ever to be recorded, hitting thousands of people and families already made homeless from a recent earthquake in mid-October. On Wednesday 20th of November, Victoria Beckham announced that she would be donating hundreds of her clothes to the Red Cross in Chelsea, London, with all the money made going straight to the Philippines. This seemed like my perfect opportunity to help donate money and at the same time get some one off clothes that no one else would ever have. At 8 o’clock I embarked on my journey to the Red Cross in Chelsea where I was greeted by many other likeminded people, after those one off pieces. The media where everywhere, questioning and snapping whatever was in their sight. It was as if Victoria was there herself. After doing numerous interviews with different media stations I eventually got my turn to riffle through her wardrobe and pick my item that I wanted to buy. With so many great choices I was overwhelmed with which one to go for but in the end this Roberto Cavalli jacket really caught my eye and later went on to make many news headlines. With its lime green suede exterior and cowboy tassels I thought it was the perfect item to brighten up everyone’s winter.
