First, the transphobic people of our generation and others start raging on about Caitlyn Jenner, then Trump starts promoting the idea that some immigrants need to promptly retreat back across the border. America is all about diversity…. Isn’t it? And the fact that students from the University of Missouri are still getting threatened really does show that our country is going in a downwards spiral of mayhem. Can this country get any more unpatriotic? Unfortunately, the answer is yes, the list goes on and on, my friends, even in the fashion world too. From the business that brought you the classics and all around basic pieces found in your wardrobe, American Apparel is filing for bankruptcy. For nearly five years now, the retail store has been erratically flirting with bankruptcy. And now it’s official, they’re a couple. Ever since the expansion of H&M around the country, their prices have decreased extensively in order to fit the pricing range of what shoppers can pay. This has been the competition that American Apparel has been faced with along with other retailers. There are nearly two-hundred-fifty American Apparel stores found worldwide, and just to think they will all soon cease to exist. In the political world, in the fashion world, and even our society is taking a drastic change in social normalities, you could even say that we really are the “New Americana.”
